Job Summary

Responsible for the development and implementation of in-service and education activities to achieve the strategic objectives of BD Integrated Diagnostics Systems.

Execute and implement clinical strategies for IDS in line with market requirements and the country business plan with the objective of:

  • Creating a clinically differentiated market position.

  • Drive the Regional clinical strategy/implementation with complete coordination with Business manager, Marketing Manager and Manager of Medical Affairs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical education support to customers for BD Specimen Management and Diagnostics System portfolios such as Vacutainer specimen collection sets, microbiology and molecular diagnostics products.

  • Conduct presentations as required to existing or new customers and patients for any of the following purpose: - introduction to business/product, product application, disease management, management evaluation, etc. Conduct promotional events and in service programs in the respective country in order to improve BD IDS value proposition amongst both clinical and economic buyers towards business outcome and achieve country business objectives.

  • Develop education/training modules for key customers, opinion leaders, specialists, distributors’ sales team and other relevant audience. Identify, plan and implement a comprehensive education and promotion program in accordance with business strategy. Creating and timely implementing the calendar of engagements in order to create strong brand awareness and creating door openers at the relevant levels.

  • Responsible for overall service requirements to customer base including training and education. Support / assist sales team with product evaluations and 'critical to business' technical challenges (including but not limited to troubleshooting and product applications)

  • Contact, develop and maintain productive relationships with key associations, government and private institutions and distributors to raise medical, safety and quality standards in healthcare practices. Leading edge key customer relationship management in order to ensure usage of full array of BD IDS products by leading client organisations and using these customer relationships to drive the conversions.

  • Ensure all product complaints are reported as per protocol and investigation results are communicated to distributors/customers in order to attain high levels of product penetration, query resolution and trouble-free product application.

  • Keep up to date with competitive market activities through maintaining a competitor database and providing market intelligence and strategy recommendation to Business Leader.

  • Maintain and update account files for ease of access by anyone within the company.

  • Attend meetings, conventions and training programs as required. May be asked to provide leadership in certain aspects.

  • Provide orientation to new members of the IDS team or other relevant personnel in BD and distributors as required including sharing market data, customer contacts and any other information to help accelerate learning.

  • Participate in projects as requested by Segment Leads from time to time.

  • Build and enhance a professional image through appropriate conduct and business ethics.

  • Constantly put in effort to improve product & clinical knowledge, competitor knowledge and industry trends. Activities will be reviewed in annual development plan.

  • Exercise mature judgment including proper use of samples.

  • Timely completion and submission of monthly management and field reports

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Nursing or equivalent.

  • Certified Phlebotomist is a plus; Certification may be substituted with ample experience and skills in phlebotomy and cannulation.

  • Minimum 2-3 years of technical support experience in Medical Device Business or related industry is a plus.

Expected Skills and Behaviors

  • Strong technical and significant nursing background, preferably in the use of BD Specimen Management products

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Effective communication skills to clearly articulate technical and product information to both internal and external customers

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, make appointments, plan schedules and coordinate efforts with Key Account Managers as well as other Service and Support personnel

  • May require working after office hours and on weekends, as needed by the customers to ensure continuity of service to the healthcare. Able to work flexible hours as required, including emergency troubleshooting.

  • Ability to perform in service training for Specimen Management

  • Optional: Class 3 driving license & own a car.
